An excellent debut in December (finishing second at Morphettville) suggested it wouldn’t be long until Tosen Water broke her Maiden status, and that was the case at Gawler today.
Returning from a freshen-up after her debut, Tosen Water (ridden by Ellis Wong), took full advantage of the inside draw to take the lead in the 3YO Maiden Plate (1200m).
Travelling well through and has the field straightened for the run home, there was only one challenger who threatened Tosen Water, race-favourite, Solar Blast.
As the pair come away from the field in the final 200m, Tosen Water found plenty to prevail by a short head, with a margin to third place.
